Here’s a sneak peak behind the curtains of what makes me smile. Who could resist two of the cutest fur-baby faces of Tex & Dixie? Of course, I’m passionate about helping those who are ready to let go of what holds them back from experiencing all this life has to offer. But I think in order for that to happen, it’s good to get to know who I am as well. Sit back, grab your coffee and enjoy the show!
At a young age, (24) I set sail to work on a paddleboat on the mighty Mississippi. This is where my gypsy soul learned to soar and was the beginning of several adventures. One of my oldest friends describes me as a free spirit, a sunrise that never ends. He added that I have just the right amount of wild woven into the fabric of my personality…I think that sums it all up, but the story must go on…. What an incredible experience those long, yet short few years on the paddle boat brought. I learned the true meaning of family and what family meant. It’s been a driving force behind everything I do today.
Pictured to the left was the last day I spent on the American Queen Paddleboat, based out of New Orleans. Truly a lifetime ago!
Fast forward a decade, I found myself immersed in connecting with other women entrepreneurs. I spent many years building legacies, companies and sales teams. God reminded me of a vision He had put on my heart shortly after our mom passed in 1998. The vision of serving others had been imbedded into the fibers of my soul. This vision took a few years to come to fruition but low and behold doors opened and I created my first company, Celebrate Life LLC. At that time I was living north of Houston, Texas and llllllllllooooovvvvving life!
I was extremely blessed to work with some of the finest women entrepreneurs. God brought incredible opportunities in different capacities. Pictured below is the WSN (Wealthy Sisters Network) Conroe Chapter. I shared the President position and was honored to do so.
Being nominated as one of Houston’s SUPERLady of the year in 2015 was such an honor. Being part of the movement that brings men and women together, all races, ages and colors has been profound. Thought leaders, community advocates and forward thinkers bridging the gaps to strengthen families, advancing businesses and building communities through education, training and mentorship. Pictured below is the dynamic, powerful and extremely driven, Ms Loretta Williams Gurnell, Founder of SUPERLady Live with the 2015 nominees. Loretta is a true angel on earth with a heart as big as Houston itself!
To know me is to know how much I love our Pappa! After losing our mom to the effects of chemotherapy when I was 25, dad suddenly was the center of my world. The meaning of family became stronger between both my sisters, our Pappa and I. Every phone call and conversation ended with, “I love you.” It took losing our mom to understand the depths of love right in front of me. I often reflect on how mom gave me roots while dad gave me wings. Both incredible parents in different ways. I’ll forever be grateful for the valuable lessons they shared while they were here.
While some want to vacation with their friends, I gravitate to vacation with family. Too many great memories and photos to share here…believe me, it was tough to decide which photos to pick from! Most of our family vacations took place in the hill country in Texas. (To the left is my Pappa and I at a dude ranch bringing in the New Year on horseback.)
Life is not complete without those special people you meet along the way that become family. My life is so much richer, blessed and fuller with friends I can ‘be me’ around….. and to enjoy all of life’s deliciousness! Yes, I’m a foodie at heart and love to create fun dishes including items from our fresh produce on the farm. It’s incredibly rewarding to walk out to the garden and choose vibrant foods to nourish the soul with.
From waitress to corporate executive to leading a team in network marketing, building my own business and serving people is my Soul’s purpose. I’ve experienced so much in this life. I’m eternally grateful to be spending my days doing something I love! ….This…THIS is my Soul’s purpose!
My grandpa always said, “If you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” He was right. I wish the same for you.
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite daily affirmations…..
I declare I am a people builder. I encourage others and bring out the best in them. I help them accomplish their dreams. I will call out their seeds of greatness, helping them rise higher and become all they were created to be.
